I haven't posted in so long and saying that life got in the way is a terrible excuse, but it s still the truth. Nonetheless I am back with a brand new poem. I've thought about keeping post a bit shorter and simpler. I would love to know what you think about it. I'm thinking shorter pieces every week and a longer written piece once a month based on requests or prompts. With that said, I won't ramble too much. Or at least, I'll try.
I wrote this with The Piano Guys blaring in my earphones. There is something breathtakingly beautiful to me about the elegance that is piano and cello. It has carried me through some dark days and it has also lifted my smile to something I can only describe as pure bliss. When we reached Queenstown on our road trip last year, there was a pianist playing at the side of the road with a mended piano he found at a dumpster. I'll upload the videos to the Rode page for my fellow piano lovers. It was so beautiful that I had to stop and Jess had to nervously ask me after 20 minutes of staring, if I was good to keep walking. The point is, music is my getaway and it is important that you have something too. Something that you can go to that will always make you pause and enjoy this ride we call life.
Time to find your something

It flows through my veins
Keeping my heart abeat
Keeping my head sane
It makes me grin
It’s there when I fall
It’s been with me through it all
How could anyone deny its beauty
When it is the truest form
If I had to choose between being deaf or blind
I would much rather not see
Because living without music
Is just not an option for me
It makes me come alive
It is the reason I have survived.
What is your something? Let's talk about it in the comments below or Instagram and Facebook. And remember to head over to the Rode page to experience AJ's beautiful music.
