Resolutions shouldn't be attached to New Years. If you have a dream, chase it. If you think it is unreachable, just start. A wise person always asked me, "How do you eat an elephant?" and the answer was "piece by piece". This was the advice my High School Maths Teacher gave me and I use it to this day.

I have always wanted to raise children and raise them to be independent. I've lived by the quote "raise your children to want you, not need you".
I repeat this to myself everyday and try my best to cater for their unique needs. I will keep doing this until the day I die.
I have always wanted to become a doctor. Unfortunately I wasn't granted the opportunity. For a long time I was devastated that I couldn't fulfill what I thought was my purpose in life. I didn't know where I was heading or where to fit in. Only after realizing that it was the people I am passionate about and not the medicine, I found true peace. My dream for my future is to be there for others and mean something to them even if they don't know they need it yet, which is why I am studying Psychology. Life is all about love; without love we aren't fully alive. To reach my dream, I care, listen and advise everyday because everyone deserves to be loved. And if I can keep loving those in need, I will be content.

In life I strive to be the person that listens. Many times people don't want your advice how good it might even be they just need a person that will listen as they pour out their heart. I have the privilege of positioning myself in a work environment where I can do just that: LISTEN.

My dream in life is to change the world. I know that is a big task, so I live by the philosophy that I will not be able to change the world but I can definitely change someone's world. Simple kind gestures, showing love and compassion, volunteering and through my (future) profession, Occupational Therapy I can change someone's world for the better. I live by the famous words of Ghandi, "Be the change you want to see in the world"
