What scares you?

Halloween decorations are just everywhere. We never really joined in on the occasion before I moved to New Zealand. But today it made me think about the things that really scare me. I hate horror or scary movies and I'm not a fan of anything with big teeth or claws, but those things don't haunt me at night. So in true writing tradition, I've revealed the truth about the things that I fear. Really it boils down to one thing. Let's see who can spot it:

Horror

Dark nights

Hallways without lights

Toys that come to life

Anyone with a knife

Things that scared the me as a little girl

Fist fights

A country without rights

Parents that don’t stay together

Life not getting better

Things that scare my as a lady

Finding someone to love

The thought that I will never be enough

Giving my heart away

With the chance they might not stay

Things that scare the little girl hidden away in me as a lady

Promising my life to someone

Tying the knot

Pretending to know what love is

I cannot

The things that haunt me still

The things that always will
