Playground

Forwards

And back

The sun touches my cheeks

Forwards

And back

My feet brush the fallen leaves

Forwards

Back

My stomach turns as I lean

Forwards

Back

A happy place, unforeseen

Forwards

Back

Where else would I be

Remember when you were a kid and the only thing that mattered was having as much fun in the day as possible? Sleep was the least of your concern even when your bloodshot eyes were laced with exhaustion. All I want is for you to ask yourself this one question: When did that disappear?

So often we forget that life doesn’t always have to be complicated. When did we stop calling shotgun to go on the swing and go so high that our insides turn? It takes the simple action of choosing to have fun with everything, even responsibilities. That annoying assignment, the job deadline, making ends meet, reaching out to strangers when you are new, stop deciding that these will all be hard before you even started and just get on, swing until you cannot go any higher and finally ... jump

Life is so precious and so incredibly short. We can only regret the decisions we don’t make. So make the decision to make it fun.

Time to get on the swing

When was the last time you were on a swing? Leave a comment below or on FB and Instagram and let's get talking. Keep a look out for the chance to vote for next week's poem topic.
