Week two of the amazing heart-warming theme you have all named BEACH. Close your eyes and let the words take you back. Well, probably don't close your eyes physically because you need to read, but metaphorically close your eyes and move back as I try to capture the memories that go along with this beautiful destination.

What memories are made of

It’s the bucket of sand I tip over

It’s the grains beneath my feet

It’s the water splashing on my toes

It’s the warm summer heat

It’s my sister that I bury

deep beneath the sand

It’s my dad rushing to the water

and my mom laying for a tan

It’s ice cream melting in my hand

and dripping on my finger

It’s the joy of it all

that makes me linger

It’s the waves

the water

the sand

wrapped in one

It’s a perfect day

perfect moment

when I have the beach

when I have the sun

When I think about the beach, I can't help but think about all the family vacations I had. To me, a girl who didn't grow up around beaches like where I live now, the beach was thee sacred and happy place we as a family had, every Summer Holiday. I created this very short, very nostalgic poem in the spirit of those memories hoping that it would heat up your hearts in the midst of this ice winter.

I personally believe that our memories aren't just the events that happen, but the emotion that you tie to that event. It creates all the difference when you associate different feelings to different memories. So here's to hoping that your association with the beach is as nostalgic and lovely as mine. If not, I'd love to know what your nostalgic happy place is. Let me know in the comments below or on Instagram/Facebook and I'll see what I can wrangle with the next theme.

Happy weekend loves

Time to be nostalgic
