A poem for EVERYONE

This one was written somewhere between teenage hormones and a whole lot of self-pity (which I'm not very proud of I assure you). But in all honesty I do think that we need to pay more attention to what the people around us aren't saying. People often leave more clues in the words they keep to themselves.

Here we go:
Nothing
There’s something beautiful hidden -
on a blank page,
in the spaces between words,
the length of breaths before speaking
-a language we can’t comprehend.
It’s in the utter silence that my words bleed
my mind speaks
my soul leaks
a small piece of vulnerability
tiny enough to be left unnoticed
left to grasp at any ONE who will glance its way.
Yet sadly we all leave that piece
and in leaving it behind we do not notice
we are all speaking the same underlying language
only to be covered up by a life of meaningless slander we have been taught to call words.
